I Started This On Monday.

Monday Afternoon:

There are about 10 things besides this that I need to be doing right now.  I need a shower now that both kiddos are asleep.

Just kidding......I hear Lucy now.  She didn't nap for very long.  Sigh.

I remember these books.....

So about half an hour has passed since I wrote those first few sentences.  Lucy fell back asleep but since I was already up I went ahead and finished up the batch of baby food I had started in the babycook (apples and pears) and went ahead and started a second batch (kiwi).  I also heard my phone "ding" with a work email containing a new project work order, so I pulled that up to sign and send back.  As I was finishing that up I heard Delano waking up from his nap, so I got him up and changed his diaper before sitting back down.  Which means I've now lost both my personal space on the couch (he's currently behind me with his feet on my back) and my TV show (I had been marathoning on "Naked and Afraid").  But he did nap for three hours, so I guess I can't be disappointed that he's not still asleep!

My current pillow.  One that kicks and wiggles and demands things.

**Sidenote:  The other day my kid shoved a Kix up his nose.  I heard him say "Uh-oh. Nose!"  Sure enough, there was a Kix up in there.  I had to work in down his nostril and then pop it out like a BB.  I guess I should be grateful it wasn't worse!

Anyway, there are a bunch of things I need to be doing.  Showering, for one.  But now that Delano is awake, a shower will definitely have to wait until Daddy gets home.  I could probably take a super quick shower before Spongebob ends and Delano even realizes I was gone, but since he's now eating raisins as a snack I'm not going to risk it.  My luck is he would choke (or shove one up his nose).

Another thing I need to be doing is cleaning.  Granted, I did manage to clean BOTH bathrooms today and I've washed dishes twice already, but the floors could really use a good sweeping/vacuuming and mopping.  I also need to start working on the pile-o-crap on the downstairs coffee table.  It's been sitting there for FAR too long.  And since I just gave my brother's fiance my "ole' faithful" computer desk, the pile-o-crap just got larger.

Kind of looks like my downstairs coffee table. ALL THE STUFF.

I also need to get the downstairs in general more "up to par" for hanging out.  It's been a neglected area for the past couple of years, with the intention of becoming the play room one day.  Well, Delano has gotten to where he randomly likes to watch TV down there instead of up here, and his train table is down there.  So I need to clean it up and get it organized for the kiddos.  It currently stays WAY too dusty and animal-hairy for anybody's liking, since the dogs and the cat are the main "people" who use the downstairs nowadays.

The den wasn't on my list of things to do today or even this week, but it IS on my list.

Next up on the list of to do: TAGGING.  For those who have never been involved in consignment, I just spoke a foreign language.   But for those who have, YOU GET ME.  I mentally believe that EVERYONE should consign their kids' stuff and buy from consignment sales (Save the planet AND your money!!!).  But I totally get why a lot of people don't consign their stuff, even if they like to buy from consignment sales.  It is a REALLY time-consuming process for something that may or may not pay off all that much.  Tagging and pricing each individual item takes a lot of time, especially when you have a lot of stuff!  And for some sales, you also have to print out and include barcodes on your tags.  The pro for this is that you can follow your sales online; the con is that it adds an extra step to your tagging process.  The sale I'm tagging for right now (Duck Duck Goose) is a barcode-required sale.

Cuz I like to roll with rollers in my hair, y'all.

I've already consigned once this season with Sweet WeePeets and made a little over $200.  But I still came home with a LOT of clothes that didn't sell.  Add to that all of the boxes of clothes that were given to me over the last several weeks, and I've got a LOT of clothes I still need to get rid of (minus all of the clothes I kept)!  I asked all of the people who gave me clothes if they would rather consign them and make some money, and they all said "nope-too much work".  I don't have anyone to pass along the clothes to at the moment (wrong gender, too small, bigger sizes are the wrong season, etc) so I figured I'd take the time to consign as much as possible to help pay for all of the clothes I've bought for Delano's fall/winter wardrobe.  Which means many days and many hours of tagging.  The Duck Duck Goose sale is the last sale of the season, so whatever fall/winter stuff doesn't sell this time around will be up for grabs.

....................................................

It's now Thursday.  So we're just going to call it quits on this blog post.  I either need to start writing shorter posts or not start writing one unless I know I have the time to finish it!
